Nike Missile Base SL-40 Hecker, Illinois - Photos
The sentry control station is a small structure containing 89 square feet. It has concrete footings, foundation, and floor, panelled wood sides with plate glass windows, a built-up slanted roof, sealed interior walls, and is completely insulated. The sentry station also has one door, with two windows on either side of it, and has electrical service.

Canine Kennel
The kennel is housed in a small building with concrete footings, foundation, and floor. Wire and metal siding constitute its walls, and it has a metal roof, one door, and one window. The kennel is surrounded by chainlink and barbed wire fencing.

Generator Building No. 2, Northeast of Generator Building No. 1
This generator building is a masonry structure containing 735 square feet. It has concrete footings, foundation, and floor, cinder block walls, three doors and two windows. This building is now a portion of a larger building, which contains the auto mechanics and body shop classroom of the Beck Vocational School. This larger building was constructed after deactivation of the Nikes Missile Base

Acid Storage Shed
The acid storage shed is located in the southern portion of the Launch Area. It lies to the northwest of the canine kennel, to the northeast of the warheading building and acid fueling station, and to the northeast of the sentry control station.
