Nike Missile Base SL-40 Hecker, Illinois - Photos
HIPAR Equipment Building, South end of base, northwest of Generator Building. This building is a masonry structure containing 1,700 square feet. It has concrete footings, foundations, and floor, cinder block walls, a built-up roof, painted interior walls, a tile floor, restroom facilities, and electrical service. Engineering drawings located at the Chicago Corps of Engineers office indicate that there were three doors which led into the building. The welding classroom of the Beck Vocational School now occupies this building. Furthermore, this building is now also a part of the same larger auto mechanics and auto body shop building to which generator no. 2 is attached.

Paint & Oil Storage Shed, North end of base, northwest of Mess Hall
The paint and oil storage shed is similar in design to the sentry guardhouse. It has concrete footings, foundation, and floor, and cinder block walls. The roof is slanted and constructed of a wooden frame with metal roofing. The are no windows, and the one door has a window in it.

The water treatment pumping and storage building is a masonry structure containing 336 square feet. It has a concrete floor, footings, and foundation, cinder block walls, a built-up roof, and electrical service. There is only one door and one window.
